Curio Cabinets are decorative pieces of furniture meant to store your collectibles, memorabilia, and other valuables. They are often ornately designed and well crafted. Curio Cabinets are usually distinctive pieces of furniture in many homes; they can generally be described as tall, narrow pieces, with glass doors for showcasing your valuables. Traditional Curio Cabinets are designed with the utmost detail with classic lines and decorative accents. More modernized curio cabinets tend to use straighter, sharper lines and will look great in any home with the same direction in design.
The wall-mounted curio cabinet is usually the smallest with an open front with multiple shelves for small collectibles. This curio is normally a square or diagonal design. These cabinets are usually made of wood with multiple display shelves and both attach to the wall. These cabinets normally do not have the intricate design that may appear in tabletop or floor model curios. Although, they still make for very attractive displays of your collectibles. A tabletop cabinet will be considerably smaller than floor curio cabinets. They normally have one to two shelves for display items and one or two doors in the front of glass, wood or metal. Tabletop models will hold only a few items or if you take out the shelves the curio can be used as a doll display case. They can range in size from eight to sixteen inches wide, six to eight inches deep to eighteen to twenty-eight inches high.
You might look at a wall mount curio cabinet and wonder, just what will I do with that. Well, there are many things you can do with a wall curio cabinet and in this article; we will discuss the various uses. Wall curios are excellent for displaying your valued treasures. However, remember the saying "One persons treasure is another persons junk". We each have our own treasures for our own different reasons. One might collect shot glasses. In fact, many people collect shot glasses. I collect them myself from every place I visit. I do not use them, but they just look great and serve as a bookmark of my travels. I have shot glasses from several states, as well as one each from Canada, Australia, and Spain. Even Disney World is in my collection. I am not alone in the world, many people collect shot glasses. A wall curio is great for these collections, as they are small and on the wall, they are out of harms way.
